Why membership in CTABC

Here are a few reasons why teachers and support staff committed to Christian Education should consider being CTABC members:

  •  Professional Development and Learning: The CTABC works to establish benchmarks and opportunities for teachers and support staff to advance their training as Christian educators. The Convention and local conventions play an important role in professional development.
  • Compensation: The CTABC works to ensure teacher and support staff interests are represented when the Compensation Report is written.
  • Conflict Resolution: The CTABC will ensure that the policies, processes and facilitators are in place, so members who feel unjustly treated, have options available to them should they need support.
  • Certification Issues: The CTABC has a keen interest in following all issues pertaining to certification that may impact on members. The proceedings at the College of Teachers and at the Ministry of Education are monitored closely.
  •   A Voice at the Table: The CTABC has representatives at meetings of the Society of Christian Schools of BC, Federation of Independent School Associations, Christian Schools Canada, Worldwide Christian Schools and Christian Schools International.
  •   Membership in a Professional Organization builds community on a Christian, Professional and Educational basis.
  •  Communal support: CTABC provides a forum and a network for sharing the joys and sorrows of members through information and prayer.
  • Cross Cultural Partnership Opportunities: Our “Bridging Cultures” projects and link with Worldwide Christian Schools opens unique areas for service and cross cultural experiences.
  • Membership in a Professional Organization allows the Christian Teachers and support staff to have a public presence in British Columbia and Canada.
  • Teachers Federations: The province of BC and other provinces in Canada have federations that speak out on issues from a teacher’s perspective. The more members CTABC has, the more impact we will have in the public arena.
  •  Christian Schools Canada: CTABC membership ensures that the interests of members are front and centre when administrators and boards come together to think of changes to the delivery of Christian schooling.
