· Over 1000 Teachers and Support Staff.
· Budget/Income of $130,000.00 approved at an annual general meeting
· Teacher membership is $160.00; Associate is $40.00
2.0 Board and Staff:
· An 8 member Board.

3.0 Communication with Members:
· School Liaison: Each school has a CTABC representative who is the communication link with the staff.
· A monthly newsletter called the “Update.”

6.0 Services Provided by the CTABC
6.1 Professional Employment Relations:
Policies and Best Practice Guidelines:
- Code of Ethics document: adopted by CTABC Board as policy
- Sexual Harassment Policy: Shared policy with SCSBC.
- Teacher contracts: CTABC-CPABC-SCSBC policy recommendation
- Maternity leave guidelines: CTABC-SCSBC-CPABC guidelines
- Staff Reduction and Re-call Policy:

- Early Retirement Policy:
- Member Handbook describing all policies and resources is available to each CTABC member on the web-site.
6.12 Compensation Committee (joint with SCSBC)
- Provides policy and compensation recommendations to SCSBC-CTABC member schools
- Generates input into a yearly Compensation Report that is issued in January.
6.13 Facilitation, Mediation and Arbitration
- Proper channels in which individuals and schools can reconcile their differences
6.14 Federation of Independent School Associations
- Maintains a close communication with FISA as it is the link with the provincial government and other independent schools.
6.15 BC College of Teachers

· The Executive Director attends most College of Teacher’s public Board meetings and ensures issues relevant to CTABC are communicated to the College of Teachers Board and CTABC members.
6.2 Professional Development:
6.21 Convention Planning Committee
- A joint committee of both Canadian and American teachers who organize the annual two day NWCSI-CTABC fall convention.
6.22 Professional Development Day Committees
- Organize regional professional development days that deal with regional issues and concerns. Four Districts: Lower Mainland, Island, Interior and Northern Schools.
6.23 Professional Development Resources and Policies
- Gives input on contracts and policies that affect teacher qualifications and professional development.
6.24 SCSBC- CTABC Relationship with Christian Schools Canada and Christian Schools International.
- Communication, input and representation on SCSBC committees and board, serving Christian schools and teachers nationally and globally.
6.3 Bridging Cultures:
- Provides a Cross Cultural professional support services arm which encourages teachers to consider service opportunities in Christian schools such as Honduras. Each summer we support five teachers as they serve sister schools in Honduras.
- Our relationship with World Wide Christian Schools allows us through their “Walking Together Program” have teachers and schools partner with emerging Christian Schools in the Developing world. South African opportunities also exist.
