Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why should I be a member of the Christian Teacher's Association of British Columbia? One hundred and sixty dollars is a lot of money.

2. Why doesn't the CTABC become a union? Public School teachers have a union?

3. If I have an unresolved issue with my Principal and/or Board or a colleague; what can CTABC do for me?

4. Doesn't the SCSBC, Society of Christian Schools of BC, do what the CTABC does; but even more?

5. Why doesn't the CTABC work more aggressively to get wage and benefit parity with the Public School system?

6. Why should the CTABC be concerned about our professional development? This should be the individual teacher's responsibility. If any direction should be given, shouldn't this be driven by Administration and School Board policies?

 7. I have a contract to teach in a Christian School? Does my contract really give me job security? What is my responsibility with respect to the contract?

8. What could a ten year Professional Development plan include for a new or experienced teacher who wants to remain current and up-to-date with what is happening in Education?

9. Why are most CTABC member Christian Schools advocates for the Christian Schools Pension Plan?

 10. How does CTABC respond to challenges of government funding of independent schools in British Columbia?
