Compensation Advisory Committee

The CTABC Compensation Advisory Committee resources the two CTABC representatives on the combined SCSBC-CTABC-CPABC Compensation Committee.

The CTABC-SCSBC-CPABC Compensation Committee prepares the annual Compensation Report that is used by Employee Relations Committees and Administrators to advise School Board on matters of salaries. The 2008-2009 Compensation Report has been received by member schools. The 2009-2010 Compensation Committee will begin its meetings in September 2008 and will have its report ready by December 2008 for distribution in January 2009.

The CTABC Advisory Compensation Committee will gather input from CTABC member schools and research current market indicators on teacher and support staff salaries. This information will be forwarded to the two CTABC representatives on the Compensation Committee, Dave Maljaars and Steven Onsorge.

The CTABC Board in its Strategic Plan, is committed to exploring how teachers salaries can brought within ten percent of the Public School salary grid. For most teachers in the beginning years this is already a reality; but there remains a larger gap for experienced teachers .

As well CTABC is committed to address the compensation interests of the educational support staff such as Teachers-on-call, Librarians, Teacher Assistants, Special Education Assistants, English Language Learner Instructors and Pre-School teachers.
