Benefit Plans
Insurance:

The CTABC-SCSBC Compensation Report recommends that schools provide teachers and support staff with adequate insurance coverage. The Christian Schools International-Canada Insurance and Trust Fund is recommended. School Boards usually pay fifty percent of the cost. This plan provides a number of different options (Flexibility) that can meet the varied needs of a staff. This plan has stood the test of time. Some companies will challenge this plan; but in the end schools have found this plan to be dependable and cost effective over the long term.

One of the benefits of this plan is that it continues when the teacher retires. Thus if a teacher develops a medical condition, this can not lead to a denial of medical benefit insurance when employment ceases. Once a teacher retires, they will assume full financial responsibility for insurance coverage.
